St. Paddy’s Day and/or Spring Cupcakes!

Hey guys! St. Paddy’s Day is just around the corner and what better way to celebrate than by baking and eating some delicious cupcakes!? My mom made these every year to the point where I looked forward to that green holiday even BEFORE I was legal to drink (come on, you know what I’m talking about).

A few warnings before baking these.

  1. These do contain pistachio instant pudding, so if you have a nut allergy these would be a no-no.
  2. This recipe only makes 18, so you might be tempted to make two batches.
    and…
  3. These are extremely addicting, you won’t be able to eat just one, and your midsection will get thicker by eating too many :) So in other words, do yourself a favor and just make one batch ;)

How To Play With Your Baby: 3-6 Months

Hey guys! I had an awesome request to do a video about how to play with your baby! It can be really difficult knowing how to entertain a lump that doesn’t really talk, or do anything quite yet, so these are some things that Kya and I like to do during our floor times during the day and also some things that we use during them! I hope these tips are useful! For links to purchase items mentioned just click on the names below!

Cloth Diapering Made Simple

Over the past few months I’ve had numerous requests for a cloth diapering video. What we use, how we use them, our wash routine, and what’s in our cloth diaper bag. Well, for a while I couldn’t really show you all anything because, well, I didn’t have  a baby yet to show you on! Now that Kya has been here for a month now, I thought it was about time to make a video now that we have our routine down.

Finding The Perfect Breast Pump

Hi guys!!!! I’m so happy to be back to my blogging schedule and now that I am I have a bunch of things to share with you guys other than my new baby! It’s been two weeks since B.K entered this world and man have they been amazingly…well they have been a lot of things. One of the things that I wanted to do with this baby that I did not do with my last was to pump and bottle feed early on. With my son we waited too long because were scared into waiting a month by the nurses, they said it would cause nipple confusion if we started any sooner. Turns out waiting a month just scared Wy OFF the bottle. Not wanting that to happen again, we took the plunge and started B.K on the bottle a week after she was born and she took to it like a champ flawlessly switching from bottle to breast every time.

Now this couldn’t have come at a better time. Because B.K is pretty fierce when it comes to her sucking and because my milk supply took longer to come in this time, I got cracked nipples which then led to Mastitis in my right breast. Pumping my right breast became my only option to handle the engorgement that then followed because of B.K’s refusal to nurse off of that breast. So that’s what brings me to today’s review! Buying breast pumps can be down right confusing. Seriously. Not only are there SO many different brands out there, but on top of different brands there are different grades, different options, and a huge price range to choose from. So how do you find the perfect pump? Well to be completely honest with you? There’s no simple answer to that, but today I hope to at least shed some light on where you can start.

Everyone has their own opinions, and like always I do want to state that  these are just MY opinions based off MY own experiences. Every woman is different, their bodies are different, their breastfeeding needs are different, and their incomes are different. SO with that being said, just because I may suggest something, please don’t feel like it’s something that you HAVE to do, or that it will be, or do the same thing for you as it did for me. I also want to mention that I am not a lactation consultant, nor am I a healthcare provider. I am just a breastfeeding momma with three kids. Continue reading

2 Weeks PP – Issues with my nips, my hormones, and my lady parts…

Good grief. Has it already been 2 weeks? WELL OF COURSE IT HAS! I’d love to say that I have no clue where the time has gone, or that time is moving all too fast, but in reality I know where the time has gone. It has very slowly ticked by as I’ve very quickly gotten more and more sleep deprived and emotional. I now know and understand why they use sleep deprivation as a form of torture in some countries….

Even though B.K (yes I have become quite fond of referring to Kya as B.K) seems to be growing up too fast, the time still seems to be crawling by. When I first returned home from the hospital I was ready to be super woman. Even though I hurt all over, and I was bleeding like there was no tomorrow, I was still dead set on getting back to my usual routine. Plus, J was home for a week so I wanted to make the most out of it.  Continue reading
