When I said that I wanted to do everything, and experience everything that I could while going through my third and final pregnancy, I never dreamed that it would lead me to where I am today and to the opportunities that I have been given. Today I want to share with you a product and company that I can honestly say every pregnant woman should treat herself to.
Pretty Pushers is a company that makes and sells disposable delivery gowns and post-partum undies. Now I know what you are thinking, why would you want a delivery gown? Well why not? If you are planning on having a hospital birth you know exactly what that nurse is going to hand you the second you walk through those doors. A gross, once used before, unflattering, and in my case over sized and drafty hospital gown. Trust me, I’ve had two hospital births already and the gowns are lacking to say the least.

Pretty Pushers understands some of our secret wants to feel and look like a million bucks when delivery day comes. Not only have they found a way to make a gorgeous gown to fit most all pregnant bellies, but they also made it in a way that is acceptable for hospital births and home births.
All of Pretty Pushers’ gowns are made from 100% stretch cotton. They have openings in all the right spots for easy access for epidurals, heart monitors, IVs, and they also offer gowns with or without easy to undo halter top ties for immediate skin-to-skin with baby. These gowns are perfect for the day you’ve been waiting for for 40 weeks.
As I hype these gowns up I won’t lie, when I came across them a few months ago I was a little bit of a skeptic. Here I thought, ok, why would I want to buy something that I would wear for one day and then get rid of it? Could I really justify spending money on something that was more for luxury than need with a new baby coming? Then I realized a few things.
- They aren’t that expensive and are actually quite affordable at $24-$28 a gown.
- This would be the last pregnancy EVER that I would get to experience, why not go out with a bang and the way that I wanted to?
- I’m the one pushing the baby out of my lady parts, I can justify anything at this point.
- I spent a gazillion times more money on a little something called my WEDDING DRESS which I wore for ONE day and actually have no clue where it now is!
- I deserved to feel beautiful, and if a silly little gown was going to do that for me, then so be it. Way cheaper than a spa treatment right?
After I received my gown in the mail I knew from the second I saw it that it was going to make my delivery extra special. Instead of throwing it on right then, I waited until last week to slip it on for the first time because I wanted to get the full effect of being…more round. These pictures were taken when I was 35 weeks, I am now 36 weeks and some odd days. I felt amazingly gorgeous. If you know me, or you follow my blogs, you know that says a lot. With a constant low self-esteem (I’m working on it ok?) I was amazed at how beautiful I truly felt in this gown, swollen ankles, acne, constipation, and all.
So with that being said, do yourself a favor. If you are looking for a way to make your day a little more fabulous, or you’re just looking for a way to treat yourself to something nice when you’re feeling fat, bloated, and all things pregnant, go skim through the Pretty Pushers Website and pick out a gown for yourself. I promise that you won’t be disappointed. I chose black because, well I love black, but they offer so many other colors that there’s one for every woman and when they say fits most bellies, I tend to believe them. I am extremely petite, pre-pregnancy I am 5’3, 107 lbs., and a size double zero (please don’t punch me), and because of the adjustable ties the gown fits me perfectly.
I love my gown, my husband loves my gown, and my mom loved it so much that she bought one for her co-worker (who is one of my OB doctors that is due around the same time as me!) for her baby shower. So not only is it Mommy approved, Husband approved, and Grandma approved, but also doctor approved as well!
*Pretty Pushers is now offering FREE priority shipping (US ONLY) for the full month of October for those of you ladies who just can’t wait! Free shipping will apply at checkout, so go get em’ ladies!*
Pretty Pushers also offers post-partum undies too! Made from 100% organic unbleached cotton, these undies are safe to wear, and disposable so there is no need to ruin your good underwear after delivery! Offered in 4 different sizes, these undies are full coverage, elastic free, and not only do they have drawstrings for added comfort, but they also have an inner pocket for ice packs for your lady parts! If you’ve had a baby already, you would know why ;). As you see from the picture, these come in packs of two, I would have shown a picture of me wearing them…but I’m still not that brave yet. I can however tell you that they do fit and are quite comfortable. I’ll let you know how the ice pack pouch works out after B.K gets here.
So whether you’re treating yourself, a friend, or a family member, these things make the perfect unique gift for any pregnant woman. I can’t wait to have these things during my hospital stay to make it a little more pleasant and I definitely can’t wait to welcome my baby girl into the world feeling beautiful and comfortable wearing my gown.
I want to say a special thank you to Mary, and all of the wonderful people at Pretty Pushers for not only giving me the opportunity to host a giveaway for my readers and to do this review, but for also sending me these wonderful products. I feel so lucky and blessed to be able to have these things for my special day.
