Kya’s 4 month update and a little oversharing about me.

On Friday Kya turned 4 months old! I can hardly believe that she is close to starting solids after exclusively breastfeeding for the past 4 months :) . Time seems to be zooming by and her developement even more!

We’ve had the baby, now what’s next? Divorce?

It’s always been ironic to me that something that should bring a couple together like the birth of a baby, can also push that same couple to the brink of separation. No, John and I are not getting a divorce, trust me, but I’m not going to lie, sometimes the thought  has crossed my mind and even come out of my mouth during hormonal induced screaming matches…

Christmas is in the air…

Tis’ the season everyone! Now that it is officially December, we can all decorate for the Holidays without being judged! Not that I would judge anyone for decorating sooner, I wanted to start right after I had my dessert on Thanksgiving day! My husband stopped me…

ANYWAYS! Today we decided that it was time to decorate! Since we spent the morning helping decorate our church, we thought we would spend the evening decorating the inside of our house. If you live in the midwest like we do, you would have experienced the same unusual heat wave as we did today. Because it was so warm out, it made picking out a tree a lot more pleasant, though I do miss the days when we would walk around in the snow searching for our perfect tree to cut down too…

Changes

It’s so funny how much can happen in a day. It is 4:30 pm right now and since 8 o’clock this morning, my husband has scheduled his knee surgery for December the 13th, his month of disability to follow, and I have added another procedure on to my surgery for December 7th.

A few weeks ago I mentioned how I would be getting an ablation done. Basically the doctor will put me under and will go in through my cervix and zap my insides…ok, it sounds pretty bad when I put it like that, but it’s not. Basically they will be frying the lining of my uterus so that I will have lighter periods :) . In doing so I will no longer be able to maintain a pregnancy. A while back John and I decided we were not having any more kids, so this procedure fit right in to our plans.

Because I will not be able to carry out a pregnancy, but will be able to still GET pregnant, it was highly suggested that we do some type of sterilization as well. J was already planning on getting a vasectomy, so we were fine on that end…so we thought. Because he had to wait until he scheduled his knee surgery date, EVERY urologist in the city booked up until the end of the year. Shit, would have been the word that popped up into my head at this point.

Thanksgiving weekend recap…

Happy Cyber Monday everyone! Wow! How is it already Monday already!? Time seems to have just flown by. Ever since B.K was born my family’s weekends have been jam-packed full of things. This weekend being probably the busiest with Thanksgiving and travel.

Thursday  (Thanksgiving day) we packed up all the kids and picked up my parents to head to my Grandma’s retirement home to celebrate the Holiday with a meal with boy her, my cousin Cindy and my Aunt Pat. My brother and his wife also met us there too. The drive there though not bad, was still an almost three-hour drive one way so we spent most of our Thanksgiving in the car.
